Product Details

Tango celery is a smooth, sweet, open‑pollinated variety that’s perfectly suited for home gardens—its tall stalks (about 18–20″) are tender, almost stringless, and full of that classic celery crunch. It matures faster than many traditional types (around 85 days, according to Gaia) , and performs well even when conditions are less than perfect: heat, moisture stress, or inconsistent care don’t knock it too far off. It’s self-blanching, so if you tie the leaves you’ll get paler, milder stalks with a slightly softer flavor. Because it’s not super fibrous, the stalks are great raw or cooked—with a flavor that’s clean and sweet without being watery or grassy. All in all, Tango is a reliable, flavorful celery that’s surprisingly forgiving and works well in gardens with shorter seasons.
