Neufeld Farms Grower Spotlight
In Abbotsford, BC, Neufeld Farms carries a legacy that began in the late 1960s, when Dietrich and Martha Neufeld transformed a small dairy farm into 45 acres of raspberries, establishing a foundation of care for both land and community. Their youngest son, Dan, who grew up immersed in farm life, stepped forward in 1980 with his wife Audrey to purchase part of the family land and continue the work. From selling berries on a picnic table under a “Honk for Service” sign, the Neufelds expanded thoughtfully into strawberries, blackberries, cucumbers, sweet corn, pumpkins, and eventually chicken farming with 60,000 birds raised every eight weeks, all while upholding principles of sustainability, animal care, and honest farming. Today, three generations are connected to the farm, with Dan and Audrey’s children each contributing and their son Steve working full-time by their side, ensuring the Neufeld tradition continues. More than half a century on, Neufeld Farms stands as a testament to resilience, responsible farming, and the enduring values of family and community.
